Bisou Brandy

Branding and packaging design for Bisou Brandy - Goldfinch Whisky. The brandy is a modern and contemporary take on a vintage 27-year-old brandy that has NOT been bottled in the Cognac region. That means it is not allowed to be called Cognac and the term “Early Landed, Late Bottled” means just that.

Bisou meaning ‘kiss’ or ‘friendly kiss’ - I was instantly drawn to French new wave films by Jean Luc Gossard. Much like Bisou Brandy, his films create a contemporary feel in a classic french style. I also wanted to echo travel posters from the 1940s with the bold shapes, colour palate and typography style - while paying homage to the mood of the french new wave films.
